The Frantic Workshop for Years 8 & 9

These workshops are specifically designed for Year 8 and 9 students to give them an insight into creating their own work and using different theatre forms. These workshops will introduce participants to the basics of our building block techniques, using physicality to open up their ideas of what theatre can be. The focus is on fun, team building and learning new skills.

These workshops seek to inspire younger students to take part in drama and consider Drama as a subject they would like to explore further.

*Workshops are a maximum of 2 hours*

Bring one of our specialist Frantic Assembly practitioners to your school and let your students experience an insight into Frantic Assembly.

This workshop:

  • Provides your students with new skills to start thinking about devising their own work

  • Promotes the physical confidence your students need to be brave and bold

  • Uses production specific exercises from shows like Lovesong, Beautiful Burnout and Othello, Things I Know to Be True and The Unreturning

  • Informs students on the various devising processes used by Frantic Assembly like our building blocks techniques and Chair Duets

All of our workshops are active explorations of the Frantic method of devising, which is about empowering people to be better at making theatre from a physical starting point. For this reason, our workshops do not explore suggested themes or texts, nor do they devise performances for examinations.

Frantic Assembly is a recommended Theatre company on AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and IB syllabuses and is studied widely at GCSE, BTEC, AS and A-Level as well as undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
